Mushrooms

The largest living organism on the planet is thought to be in the Blue Mountains of eastern Oregon; it covers about 2,200 acres of land, is over 2,400 years old, and is a fungus! We have much to learn about the vital relationship mushrooms have with the rest of nature, but their importance is no doubt clear. Still, to many they remain vastly misunderstood and under-valued. I hope to teach and inspire Vancouverites to grow gourmet and medicinal mushrooms so they become a common sight in our community. Whether they spring up in your garden, or grow from a block right in your kitchen, their fruit will be warmly received.
